About Lyn
As a native Californian raised in San Diego, I grew up in Mission Hills in the good old days of playing outside till dark with my four brothers and all the neighborhood kids. We rode our bikes everywhere and created our own fun. Homework meant helping mom and dad around the house or mowing the lawn. After attending San Diego High School, I took the scenic tour through college while working to pay for it. I have been fortunate to have lived in some beautiful places. I attended Seattle University, San Francisco State and San Jose State majoring in business management. Finally, returning to La Jolla in 1983, I was lucky to marry my best friend Stephen M. Krant, M.D., a La Jolla plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Together we have raised four wonderful children, two boys and two girls.
For many years I helped to run our busy surgical practice while volunteering at our childrens' schools and in various philanthropic organizations such as The American Cancer Society, The San Diego Medical Society Auxiliary, Scripps Memorial Hospital, Mama's Kitchen, The Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, Mainly Mozart, The Old Globe Theatre and Las Patronas.
In 1999 Stephen and I opened SK Sanctuary a medical day spa which offered the full gamut of spa services. Additionally, we founded a non-profit SK Institute to raise funds in order to offer support and education to those living with disease. To that end we held cancer awareness events to promote skin cancer awareness, men’s cancer spa nights and breast cancer nights that provided inspirational speakers and complimentary spa services to 30-40 breast cancer survivors each month. In 2013 SK Sanctuary was consolidated into Dr. Krant's medical office where we continue to offer medical spa services to all of our clients.
A few of my favorite things include cooking, reading, movies, travel (especially to Italy), arts and crafts, biking, walking the dog on the beach every morning and spending time with Stephen, our children, dogs and good friends whenever possible.
Bellezza by Lyn
Welcome to Bellezza by Lyn. For many years I have been creating jewelry for myself and friends. Some pieces were sold at SK Sanctuary our Medical Day Spa in La Jolla, California. But it wasn't a serious endeavor until all of our children were launched into the world. Now I am enjoying this inspiring, creative outlet. The beads and gems are so beautiful and I have enjoyed learning as much as I can about the origins, meanings and potential power of each of them. I have used some ancient and antique beads, natural stones, gems, bones, horn, feathers, shells and found bits from nature to create unique wearable art.
I hope that you will enjoy wearing and giving them as much as I had in creating them.
Warmly,
Lyn Tisdale Krant, Founder
